About Foodielicious

Foodielicious! is a blog about cooking, and eating, the produce-centered eatstyle.

What’s the produce-centered eatstyle? It’s a way of choosing, preparing, and eating meals that revolve around produce: vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, fungi. Research increasingly shows us that produce is the healthiest thing we can eat. A diet high in vegetables and fruits wards off a host of diseases, including cancer, and expands the human lifespan. In the produce-centered eatstyle, meals are planned according to what produce is available, seasonal, or even on hand. The produce is the star.

The produce-centered eatstyle is defined not only by what you eat, but by how and why you eat it. Eating a produce-centered eatstyle is a choice based on health, compassion, and care for the environment and our fellow beings.

Foodielicious! features recipes, tips, and ideas. It’s about enjoying every meal, savoring the beautiful rush of truly delicious cuisine.

Foodielicious! is about the creative joy of cooking, the sensual experience of eating, and all the moments surrounding.

Foodielicious! and the produce-centered eatstyle are brought to you by me! My name is Priscilla Lane. I’m an artist, writer, and foodie living in the food-tastic city of Houston, Texas. I am a self-taught home cook. I live in a small apartment, with a tiny awkward kitchen, and I face the same cooking challenges that you face: limited time, limited space, limited budget. In spite of all that, I love to cook; I love the creative process of cooking.

I am a vegetarian (although I occasionally eat seafood, the word “vegetarian” best describes my eatstyle) of 19 years. Throughout those 19 years I’ve been various degrees and types of vegetarian, all the way from lacto-ovo to vegan. I’ve learned that a produce-centered eatstyle, with occasional infusions of fish, is the healthiest and happiest way for me to eat. I am fortunate to have a big back yard, where I grow organic vegetables for my table. I also love foraging for wild foods.

Foodielicious! is my labor of culinary love. Here you will find recipes, photos, cooking tips, and my musings on the produce-centered eatstyle, slow food, and healthful cooking.
